Description:

Patients: This phase II study involved 36 patients with relapsed epithelial ovarian cancer.

Treatment: The treatment involved one biologic agent called carboxyamidotriazole (CAI). CAI is a cytostatic inhibitor of nonvoltage-operated calcium channels and calcium channel-mediated signaling pathways. It is thought to inhibit angiogenesis, tumor growth, invasion, and metastasis.

Toxicity: Grade 3 toxicities included fatigue, vomiting, neutropenic fever, and neutropenia.

Results: No overall survival was determined.
