Description:

Patients:
This study involved 60 male patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer. The median age of the group was 66 years with a range of 44-79.

Treatment:
Patients were treated with a combination of the chemotherapy agent docetaxel, the biologic therapy agents thalidomide and bevacizumab, and the hormone prednisone.

Toxicities:
One death due to heart attack was reported. In addition, all patients reported grade 3-4 neutropenia and 33 reported grade 2 constipation.

Results:
The reported median overall survival was 28.2 months.
