Description:

Patients:
This phase 3 study involved 505 previously treated metastatic colorectal cancer patients. The median patient age was 61 years and 62% were male.

Treatment:
Patients were treated with the biologic therapy agent called regorafenib, which is a small-molecule multikinase inhibitor that interferes with cancer cell growth.

Toxicities:
There were 8 treatment-related deaths due to pneumonia (2), gastrointestinal bleeding (2), intestinal obstruction (1), pulmonary hemorrhage (1), seizure (1), and sudden death (1). Grade 4 fatigue and grade 3 hand-foot skin reaction were also reported.

Results:
The median overall survival was 6.4 months.
