Description:

Patients:
This phase 2 study involved 37 advanced urothelial cancer patients who were previously treated with gemcitabine and platinum-based chemotherapy. The median patient age was 57 years and 78% were male.

Treatment:
Patients were treated with a particular formulation of the chemotherapy agent paclitaxel called polymeric micelle formulation.

Toxicities:
The most severe toxicities were of grade 4 and included anemia and infection. Grade 3 nerve disorders and neutropenia were also reported. Grade 1-2 alopecia was reported by 97.1% of patients.

Results:
The median overall survival was 6.5 months.
