Description:

Patients: This Phase I study involved 37 patients with metastatic colon cancer whose cancer had grown or returned (progressed) after being treated with the chemotherapy drug 5-FU.

Treatment: The treatment consisted of intravenous irinotecan (camptosar) and oral ciclosporin.

Toxicity: Toxicities included grade 3-4 neutropenia, grade 3 diarrhea, grade 3 lethargy, and grade 3 abdominal cramps.

Results: Median overall survival was 7.9 months.
