Description:

Patients: This study involved 23 women with advanced, platinum-resistant ovarian cancer and primary peritoneal carcinoma. The median age was 56, ranging from 33 to 76 years of age.

Treatment: Patients were treated with the chemotherapy drug docetaxel, and the biological therapy imatinib mesylate.

Toxicity: The most common toxicities were fatigue, nausea, diarrhea, anorexia, and edema. Four grade 4 toxicities were reported; leucopenia (two reports), neutropenia, and fatigue. Grade3 toxicities included thrombocytopenia, fever, fatigue, rash, thromboembolism, diarrhea, and nausea.

Results: The median overall survival was 9.56 months, ranging from 9.03 to 28.16 months.
