Description:

Patients:
This phase 2 study involved 30 metastatic malignant melanoma patients who had been previously treated with dacarbazine or temozolomide. The median patient age was 53 years and 60% were male.

Treatment:
Patients received chemotherapy with docetaxel and carboplatin.

Toxicities:
The most severe toxicities were of grade 4 and included grade 3-4 neutropenia, thrombocytopenia, anorexia, and vomiting.

Results:
The median overall survival was 9.6 months.
