Description:

Patients: This Phase I study involved 15 patients with recurrent gliomas. Of the fifteen, 13 patients had recurrent glioblastoma multiforme. All patients had prior radiotherapy and most had prior chemotherapy.

Treatment: The treatment consisted of p53 gene therapy using an adenovirus vector (Ad-p53, INGN 201).

Toxicity: Toxicities included seizure (grade 2,4), CNS hemorrhage (grade 3), headache (grade 1-3), speech impairment (grade 1-3), fatigue (grade 1-2), and vomiting (grade 1-2).

Results: Median overall survival was 43 weeks, 9.9 months.
