Description:

Patients:
This study involved 53 patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who had received previous platinum-based therapy. The median patient age was 52 years and 73.6% were male.

Treatment:
Patients in this study were treated with the chemotherapy agents pemetrexed and carboplatin or cisplatin, depending on previous treatment received.

Toxicities:
The maximum toxicity grade reported was grade 4, which included leucopenia, neutropenia, and thrombocytopenia. The most common adverse reactions of any grade were leucopenia (49.1% of patients) and nausea/vomiting (49.1%).

Results:
The median progression-free survival was 6 months and the median overall survival was 10 months.
