Description:

Patients: This Phase II study involved 24 patients with metastatic renal cell cancer; 16 men and 8 women. The median age was 60.5 years. Seventeen patients had undergone a prior nephrectomy, thirteen had prior immunotherapy, and four had prior radiation therapy.

Treatment: The treatment consisted of an antibiotic called Rebeccamycin.

Toxicity: Grade 4 toxicities included neutropenia, anemia, and leucopenia.

Results: The overall median survival was 10 months.
