Description:

Patients: This study involved 31 women with advanced breast cancer. All patients had received chemotherapy before the study. The median age was 61 years.

Treatment: The treatment consisted of two chemotherapeutic agents: paclitaxel and capecitabine.

Toxicity: Grade 3-4 toxicities included neurotoxicity, skin rash, elevated liver enzymes, neutropenia, and thrombocytopenia.

Results: The median overall survival was not measured. Two complete responses and eight partial responses were observed, and eight patients had stable disease.
