Description:

Patients: This Phase II trial involved a total of 17 patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma. There were 11 men and 6 women. The median age was 60.

Treatment: The treatment consisted of a type of gene therapy – antisense oligonucleotide MG98 to try to inhibit DNA methyltransferase 1.

Toxicity: Grade 3 or 4 toxicities included elevations in hepatic transaminases.

Results: There were no objective responses.
