Description:

Patients:
This phase 2 study involved 29 metastatic or recurrent colorectal cancer patients who had received prior chemotherapy. The median patient age was 66.2 years and 72.4% were male.

Treatment:
Patients were treated with the chemotherapy agent patupilone and steroid hormone dexamethasone or prednisolone.

Toxicities:
There was one treatment-related death due to dehydration. Grade 3-4 diarrhea and lethargy were also reported.

Results:
The median overall survival was 6.1 months.
