Description:

Patients: This Phase II study involved 17 patients with malignant glioma and large residual disease after surgery or biopsy. Fourteen patients had glioblastoma multiforme and 3 patients had anaplastic astrocytoma.

Treatment: The treatment consisted of chemotherapy drugs - carboplatin (paraplatin) and cyclophosphamide (cytoxan) followed by radiotherapy.

Toxicity: Toxicities included hematologic (grade 4), mucositis (grade 3), and neurotoxicity (grade 2).

Results: Median survival for all patients was 7.6 months.
