Description:

Patients: This Phase II study involved 36 adult patients with recurrent glioblastoma multiforme and 2 patients with gliosarcoma.

Treatment: Treatment consisted of two chemotherapy drugs – BCNU and temozolomide (temodar).

Toxicity: Toxicities included: anemia (grade 3-4), constipation (grade 3), elevated liver enzymes (grade 3), fatigue (grade 3), granulocytopenia (grade 3-4), neutropenic infection (grade 4), non-neutropenic infection (grade 3), leucopenia (grade 3-4), lymphocytopenia (grade 3), thrombocytopenia (grade 3-4).

Results: Median survival was 34 weeks (7.9 months).
