Description:

Patients: This Phase II trial involved 25 patients with advanced colorectal cancer who had disease progression (increase in tumor size or tumor spread) after being treated with irinotecan-5-fluorouracil-leucovorin (IFL).

Treatment: The treatment consisted of B analog, BMS-247550 (a non-taxane microtubulin-stabilizing agent).

Toxicity: There was considerable grade 3/4 hematological toxicity, including neutropenia (48%) and leukopenia (36%). Grade 3/4 non-hematological toxicities included grade 3 hypersensitivity reaction and peripheral neuropathy.

Results: The median overall survival was 36 weeks (8.3 months).
